Caring for Your Patches So They Last
July 8, 2026
You’ve applied your patches — now let’s keep them looking sharp. A little care goes a long way toward keeping colors bright and edges firmly down.
Washing
Always turn the garment inside out and wash on a cold, gentle cycle. Heat is the enemy of iron-on adhesive, so skip the tumble dryer and air-dry instead.
Ironing touch-ups
If an edge starts to lift over time, just re-press it through a tea towel for 20 seconds. For heavy-use items like backpacks, a few stitches around the border make patches practically permanent.
